The lake is 30 km long and 16 km wide and underground springs keep the water temperature between 14 and 24°C
throughout the year. The town of Ohrid nestles at one end of the lake with narrow streets bordered by some
superb Macedonian architecture. There are 40 churches in Ohrid, most of them with beautifully painted frescoes
and icons. Lots of the people who know Ohrid well, consider it one of the most beautiful spots in Europe. Visit Ohrid and see if you agree.
